SCM Recognizes Detective Maria Matos!

At the beginning of this school year, Constellation Schools developed a school resource officer program at several of our school locations, Constellation Schools: Westside Community School of the Arts, Constellation Schools: Stockyard Community Elementary and Middle and Constellation Schools: Madison Community Elementary. These schools contract with Royce Security Services utilizing off-duty Cleveland Police Officers. These individuals enhance our efforts of providing safe environments for our students, staff, and visitors.

Today, on behalf of Constellation Schools: Stockyard Community Middle we recognize Detective Maria Matos of the Cleveland Police Department for her extraordinary efforts in locating a missing student while working as the school resource officer on Wednesday, April 5, 2017. While the student did not go missing from our school, the family came to the school in need of support and help. The assistance Detective Matos provided to the school staff and student’s family went above and beyond the expectations of her duties as the school resource officer.

During the investigation, she was able to obtain vital information as to the student’s whereabouts. Although the student had not been located as she concluded her shift with us, on her way home she drove near an area of interest and located the student. Our student was returned safely to her family.

The entire Constellation Schools organization extends a heartfelt thank you for all of your efforts serving our students and school communities. It is our pleasure to have our President of Constellation Schools, Mr. Richard Lukich recognize your efforts with this distinguished plaque.
